Although our July 4th celebrations may be quieter this year--most official fireworks have been canceled--we can still find frugal and free resources to enliven our celebrations. To that end, I've been combing the 'Net for ideas, and ran across the useful resource, DoItYourself Homeschooler (https://diyhomeschooler.com). From history videos to crafts and recipes, you'll find plenty of fun activities to keep your youngsters interested and absorbed for a day--or for weeks of unit studies, if you prefer. I found it necessary to bookmark the website, so I could return for other favorite resources, such as free nature studies and lapbook templates.
What resources have you found, for teaching youngsters about our national holidays? Happy Independence Day, dear friends!
